This is to become a lovely, extremely collectable Watkins Westminster Mk2. Here is a pictorial history of the restoration I can carry out.
Things went better than I expected, see below. I removed the old but incorrect value/fitted components, including the extra capacitor held on with one screw. All wrong value or out of tolerance components have been replaced and component leads sleeved with fibreglass impregnated sleeving. Notice this now has a bonded earth wire to sensitively comply with current electrical regulations. A new pair of output valves are now installed and through the British Celestion G10 Alnico Gold now produced an excellent 60s sound.
All completed, tested and double checked. My client is very pleased with the way it has been sensitively restored.
